Prior to his retirement, Don Houge was a licensed psychologist and a consultant certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Dr. Houge was on the faculty of the Center for Spirituality and Healing, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and an Emeritus Assistant Professor of Family Practice at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Houge has published and presented his work internationally at meetings of the International Society of Hypnosis and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and has developed an extensive set of videotapes showing clinical hypnosis applications. He is a past president of the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Dr. Houge has a PhD from the University of Minnesota and has obtained training in clinical hypnosis from the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the International Society of Hypnosis, and Milton Erickson.
