Healing Touch International, Inc. has a threefold purpose: (1) to meet the needs of all of its members including nurses, other healthcare professionals and lay persons who are dedicated to provide heart-centered care; (2) to offer Certification of Healing Touch Practitioners & Instructors, to set International Standards of Practice and establish an International Code of Ethics for Healing Touch Practitioners, in order to ensure the public a means to judge the training and professionalism of its practitioners and instructors; and (3) to provide a mechanism for the scholarly development of Healing Touch care.

American Holistic Nurses Association embraces nursing as a lifestyle and a profession and provides a means to create bonds within the nursing community. Because true healing comes from within, the AHNA recognizes that nurses must first heal themselves before they can facilitate the healing of others. There are many roads to healing, and individuals must seek their own paths. The AHNA serves as a bridge between the traditional medical paradigm and universal complementary and alternative healing practices. The AHNA was founded in 1981 by Charlotte (Charlie) McGuire MA, RNC, HNC, and a group of nurses dedicated to bringing the concepts of holism to every arena of nursing practice.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences is a nonprofit membership organization that conducts and sponsors research into the potentials and powers of consciousness-including perceptions, beliefs, attention, intention, and intuition.

International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine (ISSSEEM) was founded to explore the application of subtle energies to the experience of consciousness, healing, and human potential and is designed as a bridging organization for scientists, clinicians, therapists, healers, and laypeople. ISSSEEM encourages experimental exploration of the phenomena long associated with the practice of energy healing.
